GQS-8 is a highly durable single channel LoRa GSM gateway for outdoor sensor telemetry and field control applications. GQS-8 is solar powered with built-in lead-acid battery for wide temperature range charge-discharge performance.
HIGH ENDURANCE & RELIABILITY
GSQ-8 is designed to be have the longest endurance and as a result, requires almost no-maintenance. Telemetry from rural areas, roads, railways, precise farming and environmental monitoring tasks require a durable, self-sufficient and reliable communication gateway to collect data and send control commands for 7/24.
GSQ-8 built-in antenna is tested up to 5 km line-of sight. Range is a factor of antennas on both side and obstacles, environment etc. GSQ-8 can also be used with external high gain antennas or directional antennas for more demanding projects to meet largest coverage area possible.
GSQ-8 has built-in GPS/GNSS receiver for exact positioning of gateway. After installation and during routine self-tests, device acquires its global position and reports to the server if required.
UPDATE OVER THE AIR
Device firmware and parameters can be updated remotely. Device also accepts SMS configuration messages from a restricted set of senders. Gateway can also be programmed to send SMS messages for some certain conditions, such as tempering or removing from installation site.
CONNECTIVITY & IoT PLATFORMS
GSQ gateway software core is designed both for transparent and platform-ready modes. Device can easily be switched to MQTT mode with preset settings for most well-known platforms such as PTC-Thingworx, Cumulocity, ThingSpeak etc. Custom path for http web service access can also be configured. All configuration changes can be done over the air commands or by sending SMS messages.
FLEXIBILITY IS THE KEY
LoRa GSM Gateway is extremely flexible, it can even be programmed to use transparent TCP/IP socket, MQTT or Http Web Service access for each sensor independently. This feature enables system integrators to freely choose and type of LoRa sensor or control node from any available vendor.
GSQ-8 can be configured to use different protocols to access various servers for each connected LoRa sensor. This is a unique feature of GSQ-8
GSQ-8 has its own telemetry report for solar and battery power status, GPS position, antitemper switch status and built-in environment temperature-humidity sensors. GSQ-8 offers cost effective and truly industrial grade gateway for demanding projects.
DUAL POWER INPUT
LoRa GSM Gateway device can be powered externally or by solar panel. External power could be 110-220V AC or 24V DC. GSQ-8 would switch to internal battery on any power failure and keeps communicating. Power state changes, grid-to-battery, solar-to-battery or vice versa are reported as an internal telemetry feature. The ultimate goal is maximized uptime, namely being 7/24 operational. Solar panel is installed externally, mounting brackets and pole mount fasteners are included upon request.
