RT802 LoRa RTU Termial is designed to link analog and digital signals through LoRa wireless communication path. RTU Terminal accept analog and digital inputs such as 0-10V, 4-20mA, I/O contact, RS232 and RS485.
RT802 series RTU’s are outdoor units with wide temperature range operation capability. Up to 64 devices can form a star topology network with unique addressing, error checking and retransmission capabilities.
End point device to a RTU can be a number of devices, such as
- Another RTU with RS485/ModBus output (to be interfaced to a PLC),
- Another RTU with RS232 output (to be interfaces to a PC/Controller Board etc.)
- LoRa GSM Gateway (to convey information to an IoT platform or a server)
RT802 LoRa RTU Termial can both be used as an input or output device. Analog or digital inputs acquire signals and convey through LoRa link and at the other end of the system, data can be retriewed using RS232/RS485(ModBus option) ports.
HIGH ENDURANCE & RELIABILITY
RT802 is designed to be have the longest endurance, hence, requires almost no-maintenance. Telemetry from rural areas, roads, railways, precise farming and environmental monitoring tasks require a durable, self-sufficient and reliable communication gateway to collect data and send control commands for 7/24.
RT802 with 3dBi antenna is tested up to 5 km line-of sight. Range is a factor of antennas on both side and obstacles, environment etc. RT802 can also be used with external high gain antennas or directional antennas for more demanding projects to meet largest coverage area possible.
UPDATE OVER THE AIR
Device parameters can be updated remotely. Frequency, spreading factor, input-output parameters, energy management and all the other parameters can be read and set over the air. Over the air parameter changes can be locked by sending admin commands if needed.
CONNECTIVITY & IoT PLATFORMS
RT802 LoRa RTU Terminal software core is designed for sending standardized packets. Device can send ModBus RTU or ModBus ASCII messages. On the other hand, device can easily set to create JSON formatted messages for using in IoT platforms such as PTC-Thingworx, Cumulocity, ThingSpeak etc.
RT802 LoRa RTU Termianl has its own telemetry report for solar and battery power status, antitemper switch status and built-in environment temperature-humidity sensors. Device can be polled to send on-board sensor telemetry information.
DUAL POWER INPUT
RT802 can be powered externally or by solar panel. External power could be 12-24V DC. RT802 LoRa Terminal would switch to internal battery on any power failure and keeps communicating. Power state changes, external DC-to-battery, solar-to-battery or vice versa are reported as an internal telemetry feature. The ultimate goal is maximized uptime, namely being 7/24 operational. Solar panel is installed externally, mounting brackets and pole mount fasteners are included upon request.
